Ducts (or conduits) offer a highly protective environment for fiber-optic cables. They are typically buried, and then the cables are air-blown, jetted, pulled or pushed into the duct.

ALTOS® Loose Tube Cable
ALTOS® loose tube cable is the most commonly deployed dielectric outdoor cable design, with fiber counts from 2 to 288 fibers– and up to 432 for gel-filled cable. Loose tube cables can be blown, jetted, or pulled into a duct or conduit that will protect the cable during its installed lifetime. Dielectric loose tube cables are suitable for lashed aerial and duct installations.
ALTOS Ribbon Cables
With 72, 144, or 288 fibers per tube, these ribbon cables are stranded around a central member, enabling isolated access to individual tubes and ribbon stacks for mass-fusion splicing- Fiber counts from 288 to 1728 fibers.
SST-Ribbon™ Gel-Free Cables
These cables feature 12 fibers arranged in a ribbon, enabling fast mass fusion splicing and steel-tape armor so that they can be installed directly into the ground without the use of a protective conduit or duct- Fiber counts from 12 to 864 fibers.
