The Centrix system offers a range of features and benefits tailored to meet modern demands, proving high density connections and a variety of splice or preconnectorized options across different applications and environments. This system is built upon three essential components: cabinets, housings, and cassettes that are configurable in 15-inch racks, and now with the addition of Centrix XL, the flexible option for 19-and 21-inch racks.

Why should I use the Centrix® System cabinet?

Patch cord management is one of the biggest challenges in high-fiber-count environments. When running a system with many hundreds of connection points and a significant growth or churn rate, connections between different network areas need to be managed properly in order to maintain service levels, system integrity, and response times. A cabinet that consolidates high-fiber port numbers can facilitate easy patch cord management even at high load rates.
What are the benefits of the Centrix® System?

Patch cords can be kept short and at a few easily predictable lengths. They are better protected, managed, and handled when staying inside a cross-connect cabinet, avoiding the need to run them across cable trays.
How can the Centrix® System be configured to support different connectivity applications?

The Centrix System is a product family consisting of different frame styles and universal housings/cassettes to enable operators to build a high-density optical distribution frame system in a MMR environment. Operators can splice OSP or ISP fiber cable directly into frame via pigtailed cassettes that are populated with either LC, or SC connectors. Alternatively, the Centrix housings may be populated with patch cassettes, splitter cassettes, or MTP^® breakout cassettes. The modular design and the breadth of connectivity options makes Centrix a compelling platform for MTDC operators.
How are patch cords managed in the high-density cross-connect?

Patch cords are managed through a combination of simple routing rules, maximised access and handling space, and a single defined patch cord length for any connection between two ports in single, dual, or quad configurations.
How do I integrate this system with my existing infrastructure?

Cable and patch cord exits at the top and bottom, and patch cord exits left and right, connect to existing cabling systems and infrastructures. Frame adapters to adjust the interface between dimensional differences are available. An overlength management frame (OLM) can be used to manage patch cord slack.
With which standards or environmental conditions does the cabinet comply? What standards has the cabinet been tested to?

The Centrix^® system cabinets have been tested for:

Shock: IEC 60068-2-27
Vibration: IEC 60068-2-6
Does the system require the use of 1.2 mm outer diameter (OD) patch cords for full capacity?

No. It is not required to use 1.2 mm OD patch cords to reach full capacity or scaling of the system beyond 100,000 ports.
