In my 25 years working in the telecommunications industry, I’ve never seen growth that rivals the rise of artificial intelligence (AI). In the face of this unprecedented advancement, there stand widespread industry challenges, including a lack of access to prime data center locations and power. Inside the data center, operators face the challenge of optimizing increasingly dense & complex fiber networks.

Now more than ever, data center operators must build with the future in mind —scalable and reliable optical infrastructure, personalized engineering support and cross-industry collaboration to prepare networks for the evolving AI landscape.

The Solution for Scalable, Customized AI Networks

Corning® GlassWorks AI™ presents a robust solution to AI’s challenges. It is a unique and complete portfolio of products and services designed to help data center operators navigate the complexities of scale-up, scale-out and long-haul/metro data center interconnects.

Drawing on our world-leading expertise in glass science, ceramic science, and optical physics, we create products that expand the promise and possibilities of generative AI. GlassWorks AI includes new optical fiber, connectors, cables, passive hardware, shuffle assemblies, and more. These components are thoughtfully integrated to deliver optical solutions that are dense, resilient, cost-effective, and facilitate ease, and speed of deployment.

In addition to these solutions, GlassWorks AI offers customized services from our industry-leading experts for complex design challenges. This platform facilitates direct connections between customers and Corning's experts, who work collaboratively to navigate specific AI architecture challenges and deliver scalable solutions.

The Cable Revolution is Here: Contour™ Flow Cable

One of the new technologies included in GlassWorks AI is Contour™ Flow cable, a high-density outside plant cable that accelerates and simplifies deployments of long-haul AI networks. This cable fits double the fiber into the same cable diameters to maximize existing duct infrastructure. At the heart of the cable is Corning® SMF-28® Contour fiber, a 40% smaller fiber offering improved bend resilience to reduce bend error and increase efficiency in high-density environment installations.

The Future of Connectivity

GlassWorks AI signifies the dawning of a new era of connectivity. Corning is committed to continuous innovation, developing solutions that enable modern capabilities. With GlassWorks AI, operators can prepare for tomorrow, today — unleashing new possibilities.
