What is Contour™ Flow Cable?​

Contour Flow cable represents an innovative breakthrough in outside plant cable technology, minimizing cable diameter to maximize use of existing infrastructure and accelerate deployments. ​

The cable design is enabled by Corning® SMF-28® Contour fiber, a 40% smaller fiber* with improved bend resilience for high-density environments. Fibers are arranged in flexible Flow Ribbons for efficient mass fusion splicing.​

Higher fiber count (≥ 864F) options have finger-peelable, color-coded subunits that can be readily accessed and routed directly into hardware without furcation, reducing cable preparation time by up to 30%.​

Contour Flow cable is a more sustainable option as well. Due to its decreased diameter and increased fiber density, the cable enables up to a 27% reduction in carbon footprint per fiber.​†
