Corning invented the first low-loss optical fiber over 50 years ago. Since then, our world has become more connected than ever before. Yet, America’s digital divide persists, with nearly half of U.S. households still lacking access to reliable, high-speed fiber broadband.
Our industry stands at a historic moment of both challenge and opportunity as a tremendous level of government funding has become available to bridge America’s digital divide. Corning looks forward to playing a key role in the implementation and success of the NTIA Enabling Middle Mile Broadband Infrastructure Program, Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program, and other initiatives that will help expand America’s network to connect unserved and underserved communities.
