CORNING, N.Y. | CORNING INCORPORATED | April 11, 2018
Hosting tutorial on using 3D cell culture to predict glioblastoma response to chemotherapy

Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) will showcase its latest solutions for cancer research, 3D cell culture, and drug discovery in exhibit 1842 at the 2018 American Association for Cancer Research Annual Meeting, April 14-18 in Chicago.

The world of 3D cell culture is expanding rapidly – from innovative organoid and spheroid development to 3D bioprinting applications and unique cancer research models for high-throughput screening. Corning is helping customers leverage 3D cell culture to create more in vivo-like studies that are accelerating cancer research and drug discovery.

Solutions featured in the Corning exhibit will include: 3D cell culture tools for cancer research, automated 3D solutions, drug screening (including ADME/Tox), sample cooling and freezing, and automated cell counting.

Corning will also host a special tutorial called “Rock the Science of 3D: From Promise to Reality” at 10 a.m., April 17 in Spotlight Theater C in the Exhibit Hall. Dr. Tessa DesRochers from KIYATEC will discuss assays that build upon the increased biological fidelity of 3D cell culture to accurately predict individual patient-specific glioblastoma response to chemotherapy. Also, Dr. Hilary Sherman, a Corning applications scientist, will explain a novel 3D glioma blood brain barrier (BBB) model for high throughput testing of tumoricidal capability.
