Corning to Demonstrate Private LTE Network Infrastructure at the CBRS Alliance Members Meeting
Corning, NY | Corning Incorporated | May 07, 2018

Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) will present a live demonstration of a private long-term evolution (LTE) network infrastructure during the CBRS Alliance Annual Members meeting May 8-9 in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia. Corning will collaborate with Druid Software to demonstrate how private enterprises can easily adopt the CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) technology to enhance network performance.

The CBRS band is made up of 150 MHz of the 3.5 GHz spectrum. The FCC authorized shared use of the spectrum with wireless small cells in 2015. The CBRS Alliance “believes that LTE-based solutions in the CBRS band, utilizing shared spectrum, can enable both in-building and outdoor coverage and capacity expansion at a massive scale.”

As part of the demonstration, Corning will provide a SpiderCloud Enterprise RAN composed of a Services Node and SCRN-330 radio nodes. Druid Software will deploy its virtualized Evolved Packet Core.

Additionally, Corning and Druid Software are announcing a collaboration to provide enterprises in the United States with a turnkey private LTE solution, including service and support. This collaborative solution relieves the enterprise from the burden of integrating the various network components.

“We are excited to be participating with Druid in this demonstration, and are even more pleased to announce our collaboration with Druid to provide private LTE solutions – offering enterprises a one-stop shop for their full network,” said Michelle Engarto, vice president of wireless solutions product line management at Corning. “Our work with Druid highlights Corning’s unique co-innovation approach: We collaborate with industry leaders to develop solutions that increase network capability and deployment speed, while reducing our customers’ total cost of ownership.”
