Corning, through the Office of STEM, lends our voice and support to the statewide STEM effort through participation with and appointments on advisory committees and leaderships teams of several New York State organizations. These include service on the leadership team of the Empire State STEM Learning Network (Empire STEM), the New York State STEM Education Collaborative and the New York State Education Department’s Science Education Steering Committee.

The mission of the Collaborative is to define and promote the scope and integration of STEM education as a statewide and national model. As a member of the leadership team, Corning works with the members of the collaborative to deliver STEM Education in the spirit and vision of New York State’s MST Frameworks and Learning Standards. This approach is taken to address the concerted state and national cry for STEM Literacy.
