Corning’s Evolv ™ Terminals and Drops recognized as the “Product Brand of the Year” with a special mention in “Telecommunication & IT”

Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) announced today that its Evolv™ Terminals and Drops with Pushlok™ Technology have been recognized as the “Product Brand of the Year” at the 2021 German Brand Award. The product line also received a special mention in the “Telecommunications & IT” category. This is the first award win for Corning’s solution.

Next-generation passive optical and 5G networks promise to deliver life-changing applications at ever-increasing speeds. Remote surgeries, autonomous cars and industry 4.0 require low latencies and a bandwidth only 5G can offer. However, these next-generation network architectures require advanced solutions to support increased bandwidth demands. Space is always an issue in urban areas and 5G requires more small cells to be discretely placed in already congested environments.

Evolv™ Terminals and Drops are the solution, supporting FTTP and 5G deployments in today’s increasingly space-constrained environments, especially where congested polls or ducts are an issue, space is a concern, and aesthetics are critical. The improved aesthetics allow operators to deploy terminals for any type of fiber-to-the-premises network with minimal visual impact. The Pushlok™ Technology also enables simple one-handed drop installation, with tactile and audible feedback.

“This is our first product design award for Evolv Drops and Terminals and we are very proud of our solutions as they enable operators to push their networks to go faster, go simpler, go smaller and go anywhere,” said Patricia Benlloch, EMEA Carrier Networks Marketing Manager, Corning Optical Communications. “Our world is getting smaller, as networks connect people and devices all over the globe. Next-generation passive optical and 5G networks promise to deliver life-changing applications at ever increasing speeds. These network architectures require advanced solutions to support increased bandwidth demands and that’s exactly what our Evolv portfolio offers.”

Entries in the “Product Brand of the Year” and “Telecommunication & IT” categories included a range of leading technologies. In 2021, the German Brand Awards were able to achieve a great international response with 1134 submissions from 17 countries. Products were evaluated on their innovation, design, unique features and benefits to customers. The German Brand Awards is organized by the German Brand Institute in order to strengthen brand management and honor excellence in both the German and the international market.
