Fiber Optic Closures

Fiber Optic Closures

Whether your fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network design has closures in a buried or aerial environment, one thing remains the same: you need assured environmental protection and quick, incremental subscriber drops. From our experience in the field, we know that not all closures are the same. Corning's closures are designed with your needs in mind.

FDC Fiber Dome Closure

FDC Fiber Dome Closure

A below-grade closure designed for up to 864 fusion splices. The FDC family offers extensive installation versatility - below grade and aerial - along with multiple sizes that fit most butt/ branch splicing configurations. Designed for easy installation and multiple re-entries in hot, dry, humid, and cold climates.

SLiC® Closure Series

SLiC® Closure Series

An above-grade closure designed for up to 864 fusion splices. SLiC® fiber aerial closures protect fiber optics installed in above ground areas. SLiC closures allow outdoor ambient air circulation, draining away condensation from the splice while protecting fiber connections from direct sunlight and weather.

MPE Closure Series

MPE Closure Series

An above-grade closure designed for up to 144 fiber splices. MPE closures are thoughtfully designed to incorporate individual strain-relief, sealing of all cables, and quick-release clamps for easy re-entry. A smaller form-factor than the UCA series, this terminal closure can support subscriber drops or be used as consolidation point for multiple preterminated terminals in a star topology.

Splice Closure Fiber (SCF)

These sealed canister closures are available in configurations that can accommodate from 72 to 576 single fiber splices, or from a 288- to 1296-fiber capacity if splicing ribbons.

The Splice Closure Fiber with Gel-Sealed End Cap's independent gel port design allows for faster installation than traditional mechanical closures and precludes disturbing already installed/connected cables in the closure

OptiSheath® Aerial Terminal (SCA)

OptiSheath® Aerial Terminal (SCA)

These innovative aerial terminals provide low-cost environmental protection and quick incremental connection of subscribers’ drop cable with individual strain-relief, sealing of all cables and quick-release clamps for easy terminal re-entry.

OptiSheath® Sealed Terminal and UCAO Splice Closure

OptiSheath® Sealed Terminal & UCAO Splice Closure

OptiSheath® Sealed Terminal is designed for the aerial, pole, pedestal or buried fiber access network and provides a low-cost solution optimized for optical access architectures.

UCAO Splice Closure accommodates fiber optic cables and provides excellent environmental protection for up to 60 single-fiber splices. The UCAO closure is suitable for aerial, underground or direct-buried applications. Four in-line ports allow up to a total of 28 mm cable diameters.
