Product Line Manager CAB EMEA

My journey in Corning began back in 2008 when I joined the company as Key Account Manager, North-East Germany. In this role I had sales responsibilities for a sub-team of the DACH area. I had to establish new and develop existing customers. After a couple of years in this role, I moved to the marketing department, where I was responsible for the development, presentation and execution of an overall LAN strategy for the EMEA region as well as defining the EMEA Distribution Marketing Plan to establish Corning Optical Communications as a trusted partner. Just recently I moved to the Product Line Management Department, where I am involved in defining and executing a cross-functional Cable Assemblies EMEA & APAC strategy and annual plan.

We are working in a matrix organization, where we are constantly partnering with colleagues from different locations. It is sometimes necessary to compete for others’ time and attention. While coping with this challenge on a daily bases, I acquired a new skill related to cross functional leadership. I also realized that you have to like networking and socializing with others in order to achieve the desired results. Throughout my years of service in Corning I mastered my project and time management skills. Finding out the details, prioritizing the tasks and aligning the available resources are the essentials of a well-done job.

Corning supports the development of its employees and I am really glad that I took part in the Leadership Development Program organized by the company. Moreover, Corning supported me in acquiring my MBA degree.

What I really like about Corning are the people and our culture which values being kind and gentle with your colleagues. We are approaching people as individuals who trust each other. It is also amazing to see with how many different nationalities we are working. Being part of a group with different people allowed me to become more aware of the details I need to pay attention to when I work in a culturally diverse environment. I like Corning also because it supports the long-term development of its employees while ensuring a work-life balance.

I would encourage the candidates to apply for Corning, because we are caring about our people. We actively support our employees in making their Corning success story last for the long term. The possibilities for professional and personal aspirations are impressive, because we have a lot of freedom to develop across the globe.
