Corning and Infratel Italia Join Together to Support Italy's Battle Against the Impact of COVID-19

Corning Incorporated announced coordination with Infratel Italia for the donation of laboratory supplies to support efforts to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on medical supply networks in Italy. The donation included 100,000 pipettes, a laboratory consumable that allows for the collection and subsequent delivery of liquids. Infratel Italia organized the delivery to the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, which will distribute them to the various medical facilities in need.

Infratel Italia, the Ministry of Economic Development's in-house telecommunications company, is a long-standing partner of Corning for fiber optic solutions in Italy and today the two companies are joining forces to help medical laboratories combat the impact of COVID-19 in Italy.

In addition to supplies, the Corning Incorporated Foundation, a charitable contributions organization established by Corning Incorporated, is in the process of making a grant to the Fatebenefratelli – Ospedale Sacco through an US intermediary, the King Boudoudin Foundation.

Corning's Pharmaceutical Technologies division operates a facility in Pisa, Italy, that produces high-quality glass tubes for pharmaceutical packaging.
