Corning Settles Lawsuit Against Xinhao

CORNING, NY | Corning Incorporated | May 23, 2022

Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) today announced that it settled a lawsuit filed against Shenzhen Xinhao Photoelectric Technology Co., Ltd. (“Xinhao”) in the Western District of New York. Corning settled the lawsuit for an undisclosed value and agreed to dismiss the litigation without prejudice. The breach of contract dispute centered on Xinhao’s compliance with the use of Corning’s intellectual property as defined by the commercial agreement under which the parties had operated under for 5 years. Pursuant to that agreement, Corning had agreed to share its proprietary technology with Xinhao to enable Xinhao to process Corning® Gorilla® Glass, and Xinhao, in return, had agreed to treat Corning’s technology as confidential and to only use the technology on Corning Gorilla Glass.
