Nonprofit Grants

Committed to making a positive impact on communities where our people work and live.

For nonprofits

Nonprofit organizations are a source of collective impact, uniting individuals in pursuit of the greater good, instilling hope and engaging communities. Through our grants program, we annually acknowledge and support nonprofits with direct cash awards look to support community-based programs where Corning has a strong presence.

Here's how it works:

  1. See if you’re eligible:
    1. Grant categories: We support education, human services, and culture initiatives. Check out our focus areas for a detailed framework.
    2. Geography: Our focus is on community-based programs within a 20-mile radius of a Corning business location with at least 50 employees.
  2. Invitations and introductions: If you're eligible and align with our criteria, we may invite you to apply. Eligible organizations can introduce themselves to be considered for an invitation via email to philanthropy@corning.com.
  3. Application process: Eligible nonprofit organizations who have been invited to apply may submit their application during the annual grant cycle. Our team will review all applications. Applications submitted by nonprofit organizations outside of Corning, N.Y., but within a 20-mile radius of a Corning business location, are reviewed by a local business team and their recommendation influences our final decision.
  4. What We Don't Fund: We don't support event sponsorships, conferences, individuals, religious or political causes, or organizations with an excessive number of counterparts. Please check our non-discrimination statement* for compliance.
  5. Grant Cycle: If your program meets our eligibility criteria and you receive an invitation to apply, you may submit a grant application. Grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis once in a 12-month period. We encourage invited organizations to apply early in the grant cycle.
    1. Corning/Elmira, NY: Feb. 15 to Oct. 15
    2. Business locations: Feb. 15 to Sept. 15
Select organizations may be required to submit applications by May 30.
