Senior Vice President & Corporate Controller
Edward Schlesinger was elected senior vice president and corporate controller in February 2019. Schlesinger is responsible for leading the corporate accounting, compliance, and external reporting functions; the corporate-wide reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and planning processes; M&A finance; corporate shared services function; and leading the Finance function 2020 strategy.
Previously, Schlesinger was elected vice president and corporate controller in September 2015 and principal accounting officer December 2015. Schlesinger was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Corning Cable Systems (now Corning Optical Communications). In this role, he was responsible for leading the finance function for Corning Optical Communications, including financial reporting, forecasting, analysis, and business support. Schlesinger served on the Optical Communications Leadership. As CFO, he ensured that Optical Communications invested in profitable growth opportunities and maximized cost reduction programs.
Prior to Corning, Schlesinger spent more than 20 years with American Standard and Ingersoll Rand, where he built extensive expertise in technical financial management and reporting. He recently served as the vice president, Finance & Sector CFO for the Climate Solutions Sector for Ingersoll Rand.
Schlesinger holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Montclair State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from St. John’s University. He is a certified public accountant.
