Mikael Garcia

Mikael Garcia, Ph.D.

Senior Field Application Scientist, Corning

 

Mikael has over 16 years of experience in the biomedical research and innovation sector. He earned his PhD in Biology via a CIFRE fellowship, a collaboration between the University of Bordeaux and Cytoo, a biotech company that specializes in creating physiologically relevant cellular models and assays for High Content Screening.

 

After a two-year postdoctoral fellow at IINS in Bordeaux, Mikael moved to Poietis, a biotech firm renowned for developing and manufacturing human tissues using 4D bioprinting. Over the course of six years, he led Industrial and European projects to develop alternative human tissue models via 3D Bioprinting, which included Hair Follicle, Skin, Brain, Pancreas, and more.

 

In 2021, Mikael joined Corning as a Field Application Scientist (FAS), where he concentrates on the company's bioprocess portfolio.

Evert-Jan Breman, Production Pharmacist at UMC Utrecht, specialized in the development of new ATMPs. Focused on current clinical trials and the development of new trials involving MSCs. Currently working on the product development of MSCs, transitioning from CellSTACKs to HYPERStacks.
