Title: Challenges and Opportunities in the Scale-up Production of MSCs
Description: The clinical success of mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC) therapies is fundamentally tied to our ability to produce billions of high-quality cells in a cost-effective and reproducible manner. Traditional 2D expansion fails to meet this demand, while conventional stirred-tank bioreactors often subject sensitive cells to detrimental shear stress. In this presentation, we will show our results using clinical-grade Corning microcarriers for the expansion of human Wharton’s jelly MSCs.
Presenter: Joaquim Vives, Ph.D., Senior Researcher, Banc de Sang i Teixits (Blood and Tissue Bank, BST), Spain
