In April 2007, Curran was elected senior vice president and general manager for Corning Optical Fiber.
Marty joined Corning in 1984 and has held a variety of roles in finance, manufacturing, marketing and as general manager. Since 2000 he has served as senior vice president, general manager for Corning Cable Systems Hardware and Equipment Operations in the Americas. In this role Marty was responsible for operations in Hickory, N.C., Keller, Texas, Reynosa, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, as well as global Hardware & Equipment Technology and Operations strategy. While in this role, Marty played a significant part in the introduction of new products for the fiber-to-the-home and public and private telecommunications networks markets.
Curran was also responsible for Corning Gilbert which specializes in broadband coaxial interconnect systems and was chairman of US Conec, a joint venture for Multifiber ferrule technology with partners NTT-AT and Fujikura, Ltd.
Curran graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s degree in finance and received his master’s degree from the University of Virginia’s Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business.
