In its annual celebration of the most compelling, inspiring “Pictures of the Year,” National Geographic chose to highlight Corning’s ribbon ceramics technology. Selected from more than 2.2 million submissions, this innovation—featured third out of the top 49 photos—promises to help advance initiatives to combat climate change, enable next-gen devices, and more.
“These ultra-thin, flexible, durable ribbon ceramics offer an expanding array of current and future applications that can help solve some of the most challenging problems facing sustainability today,” said Scott Silence, program manager, director, Corning Ribbon Ceramics. “Christopher Payne’s photograph beautifully captures the incredible possibilities of this emerging Corning technology.”
