Hermen has just started his role as Innovation Manager at Royal Huisman, but has been involved in innovation at Royal Huisman for over 4 years. Hermen holds a Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering and is specialized in Systems Engineering and Aerodynamic Design. He first worked at KE-works and developed and implemented engineering software tools for Aerospace, Automotive and MEP.

As an enthusiastic sailor Hermen moved to Rondal and later Royal Huisman to follow his passion in sailing yacht design, engineering and construction. At Rondal he held the position of Manager Design & Engineering, worked at Royal Huisman as a specialist in Noise & Vibrations, Insulation and Fire Protection & Safety and worked as a Engineering Project Manager on two yachts before becoming Innovation Manager. These yachts were the 58m motor yacht PHI and the 46m ‘featherlight’ sailing yacht; Project 405.

Hermen was heavily involved in the development and implementation of the 300m of laser fibers for the exterior lighting onboard motor yacht PHI.

Arjan is responsible for business positioning, managing strategic initiatives and setting up Fibr8's sales partner network. He has supported several start-ups in strategy formulation and execution. Arjan started his career in 2004 as a management consultant at Accenture in the energy sector. He then went abroad to work on projects to increase global access to energy services for several international financial institutions. He then set up a company that introduced an innovative concept to increase access to electricity in underserved areas. As an investment manager at a clean energy investment fund, he assisted several innovative start-ups in obtaining early-stage debt and equity financing. He runs a company that focuses on consulting and support for start-ups.

Kees is the European-based entrepreneur who has designed a complete lighting system based on the Corning® Fibrance® Light-Diffusion Fiber (LDF) since 2015. As a certified light designer, he has been the driving force behind the innovative laser-based fiber light line company Fibr8.

He started his international career in 1997 at Ericsson where he gained specific market development skills to uplift new products to fully integrated solutions in legacy environments. For example, he supported Vodafone Group and other global operators in launching new (centralized) mobile Internet services, such as MMS, mobile TV and Internet. After his career switch to Corning's telecom distributor Infraconcepts, he developed a complete light line solution to market the unique Corning LDF in the architecture and marine market, which led to the company Fibr8. Here he works closely with the best companies in fiber optics, lighting control and segment-specific integration.
