Data Collection Form

Your data privacy is very important to Corning Group. This notice (hereinafter referred to as the “Privacy Notice”) is intended to inform you of how your personal data you submit is collected, processed and used when completing our collection form.

Data Collection and Use

All the personal data you submit is collected by Corning Life Sciences and will be shared with the local Corning entity of your country (according to what you provided in the collection form). Both Corning Life Sciences and the relevant local Corning entity (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Corning”) are acting as Joint Data Controllers in respect of your personal data collected hereby. Corning processes your personal data based on your consent for direct marketing purposes (e.g. information about product updates, promotions and special offers, training and events or newsletters) or based on its legitimate interest to handle any enquiries or comments you provide to us and so to improve our services and customer experience.

Providing your data is voluntary. However, if you choose not to provide all of the requested information, we may not be able to provide you with information that may interest you or we may not be able to answer your questions and handle your specific requests.

Disclosure

Your personal data processed by Corning will only be accessible by a limited list of recipients on a need to know basis within the Marketing, Sales, and Commercial functions.

Your personal data may also be provided to service providers acting on behalf of Corning for the purposes of IT support, hosting and carrying out marketing e-mailing.

Your personal data may be transferred to third countries, including in countries which do not have the same level of protection of personal data as in the EEA. Data transfers to other Corning entities are covered by the Group’s Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) whereas data transfers to third parties in particular for to be completed with the transfer purpose, e.g. hosting and IT support purposes are secured through appropriate contractual guarantees such as the EU Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adherence to the Privacy Shield for transfers to the USA where applicable. Data Retention

We only keep your personal data for as long as we need it for the purpose for which we hold your personal data. To determine the data retention period of your data, we use the following criteria:

  • Where you contact us for an enquiry, we keep your personal data for the duration needed for the processing of your enquiry;
  • Where you have consented to direct marketing, we keep your personal data used for direct marketing until you unsubscribe or require us to delete it or after a period of inactivity (no active interaction with brands) defined in accordance with local regulations and guidance. In that case, we will only keep the information necessary to handle your right to object in accordance with local regulations and guidance and if you are a client we can keep your personal data but only for client management purpose.

Your Rights

You can unsubscribe or opt out of our direct marketing communication at any time. It is easiest to do this by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link in any email or communication we send you. Otherwise, you can contact us using contact detail below or visiting the Subscription Center.

You can, at any time, according to the applicable regulation on the protection of personal data, exercise your rights to access, to amend, to delete, to obtain the portability of your personal data, to restrict and to object to the processing of your personal data.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you suspect that Corning is not compliant with data protection rules. In addition, you can find in the BCRs of Corning  (and more specially in Articles 5.1, 5.4, 6.3, 6.4 and appendix 2) the data protection principles to which Corning is subject and that you have the right to enforce, as a third party beneficiary. Indeed, if you suffer any damage related to the processing of your personal data, you have the rights to obtain redress and, where appropriate, receive compensation as may be ordered by the competent court or Supervisory Authority or as decided according to the internal Corning complaint mechanism, if used.
