Economic Times Telecom India Mobile Conclave ’19

Innovating smartphone design for the value segment takes center stage

On March 19, 2019, Corning Gorilla Glass was a proud Associate Partner and participant in the Economic Times Telecom India Mobile Conclave ’19, held in Delhi, India. This gathering of technology giants, from across the entire Telecom eco-system, set out to discuss how India can fully realize its goals of improving broadband connectivity, attracting billions in investments and creating more jobs — all in service of one of the world’s largest markets for smartphones. In fact, in India, people without smartphones still outnumber those with smartphones.

John Bayne, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Corning® Gorilla® Glass, took to the stage to continue a narrative he started in 2018 in his keynote at the NDTV Technology Conclave in Delhi. Recognizing how India is poised to dramatically increase its participation in the Digital Era, Bayne zeroed in on how critical it is to break down the barriers to smartphone adoption in India by having the entire mobile consumer electronics ecosystem focus on innovative smartphone design specifically for the value segment.
