SpiderCloud’s small cell system, called Enterprise Radio Access Network (E-RAN), offers market-leading capacity, meets the performance requirements of Tier-1 operators, and can be cost-effectively deployed in typical enterprise environments.
The E-RAN system is made up of one rack unit sized Service Node that manages multiple single-carrier or dual-carrier Radio Nodes operating in 3G, LTE and unlicensed spectrum.
Radio Nodes can be mounted on the ceiling, or on the wall throughout an office or building and are powered by Ethernet, which makes them easy and quick to install. In any deployment, multiple Radio Nodes are connected to the Service Node using standard Ethernet LAN infrastructure. SpiderCloud offers a portfolio of Radio Nodes that support UMTS, LTE and LTE-U/LAA.
The Service Node lies at the heart of SpiderCloud’s E-RAN solution and ensures the E-RAN is easy to deploy, easy to manage and delivers the performance mobile operators expect. The Service Node is access technology agnostic and supports UMTS, LTE, and LTE-LAA.
SpiderCloud E-RAN systems are securely managed and monitored by a purpose built Element Management System (EMS) called SpiderNet. SpiderNet is a fully featured EMS platform that leverages industry-standard protocols such as TR-069 and SNMP and provides a flexible NBI for seamless integration with existing OSS, SON and provisioning systems in the operators NOC.
SpiderCloud’s E-RAN features innovative use of technology to enable mobile operators and enterprises to easily install a system without use of specialized engineering. Systems Integrators with cellular and Wi-Fi expertise in their operation greatly benefit from the SON automation in the E-RAN, and the use of common enterprise technologies like Power over Ethernet, Cat 5e or greater cabling, and IP/IPSec transport over the front - and back-haul.
Additionally, new markets and business models are being enabled with the emergence of CBRS shared spectrum.
