Due to family commitments, I switched careers from sales to an administrative role. My friends were concerned I wouldn’t be able to cope with such a drastic change in job scope. But within a year, I proved them wrong.

Life at work has been very exciting ever since I joined Corning in 2014. My supervisors are very supportive and involved me in defining my role. This allowed me to incorporate my past experiences into my current role. In addition to my daily tasks as an executive assistant, I also have opportunities to learn about marketing and corporate communications.

I am also involved in my supervisor’s commercial organization, which gives me opportunities to visit other Corning offices in India, Turkey, Japan, and even Corning’s corporate headquarters in Corning, New York! The best thing, however, is that despite my busy schedule, I still have time to find the balance between work and family.

I am very proud to be a Corning employee. Who wouldn’t be? Corning produces the optical fiber that creates better telecommunication networks, ceramic filters that help the automotive industry reduce pollutants, display glass that enables clearer pictures on our televisions, and, last but not least, the life sciences products that help researchers find cures for diseases.
