“Corning welcomes leadership by every employee. It is up to us to take that one step forward. We also respect other individuals and work very well as a team. We are recognized for the work that got done as well as how we live our Corning values.”
My supervisors assign me to challenging projects and provide support when I seek for help. I know that other engineers in my team are also available when things get tough. So I do not hesitate to challenge something new to satisfy my curiosity. I could not have gained all the experiences that I have if this was not the culture.
I joined Corning as a process engineer in Sakai City Plant in 2010. My role was to maintain stable daily operations and develop fundamental understanding of the process through basic experiments. I wanted to expand my understanding in different processes. In 2016, I moved to division engineering group and now working on improvement of process and support tank startups globally. I became familiar with glass manufacturing process and mechanical, electrical, controls engineering of equipment. But my most valuable asset is being able to participate in global team and learning by experience how to leverage the diversity of ideas, cultures, backgrounds and lead in one direction.
