At Corning Manufacturing Technology & Engineering (MT&E) Asia spot many female engineers. Many of them are young, bright, and beautiful. Like many of their male counterparts, they take on complicated engineering projects and tasks with a more deliberate mind and bring positive synergy among the team.

However, being a woman does not immune us from all the pressure and stress at work. In fact, the working hours at days, cross-country meetings in the evenings, and frequent business trips are exhausting. I always try to take advantage of any rests if possible, whether communicating traffic, or flying. Because every bit of energy is needed once I arrive at my destination.

As a female, I truly believe we are patient and calm when dealing with difficult situation. Often, female would prefer a face to face approach to understand issues and problems rather than sending out an email. Learning directly about the situation, explaining the problem, and exploring the solution. In these, I believe the communication can be more upfront, and are more able to bring out the human context.

I hope more beautiful and wise females join MT&E Asia and Corning. Let all shine together in engineering group.
