Masters of Quality Award presented for superior diesel particulate filters and ceramic substrates

Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) announced that it has received a 2015 Masters of Quality Supplier Award from Daimler Trucks North America. This is Corning’s second consecutive year being recognized by Daimler for its diesel particulate filters and substrates. The awards program acknowledges suppliers who are top quality providers of components and services for Freightliner and Western Star truck brands.

To earn the award, Corning demonstrated outstanding performance in quality, delivery, technology and cost. Corning’s advanced substrates and filters help Daimler meet stringent emissions regulations while achieving excellent vehicle and engine performance.

“The Masters of Quality award winners represent the ‘best of the best’ among our suppliers, and their work is crucial to our enduring success,” said Roger Nielsen, chief operating officer of Daimler Trucks North America. “Our suppliers play a significant role in our success as they work in partnership with Daimler Trucks North America to help the company meet its goals.”

This year marks the 29th anniversary of Daimler’s annual awards. Corning is the only substrate and filter manufacturer to receive the award this year.

“We are honored to again be recognized by Daimler as an outstanding supplier,” said Hal Nelson, vice president and general manager, Corning Environmental Technologies.  “This award reflects the commitment and hard work of all of our employees to find innovative solutions to tough customer requirements. We remain dedicated to continuously improving our products and our service to Daimler in the years to come.”

Today, Corning continues to build on its 43-year legacy of advancing mobile-emissions solutions by leveraging its capabilities in ceramic science to help our customers meet increasing regulations and enable cleaner air worldwide.
