President and Chief Operating Officer
Eric Musser is Corning’s president and chief operating officer. As COO, Musser is responsible for leading Corning’s five Market-Access Platforms to deliver on operating objectives, financial performance targets, and Corning’s Strategy and Growth Framework. Musser focuses on execution across all areas of operations to enhance collaboration and integration, focus on our customers’ needs, and maximize market opportunities. Musser continues to lead Corning’s international regions as well as the Global Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Safety functions.
Most recently, Musser served as executive vice president of Corning Technologies and International and was responsible for leading the growth and expansion of Corning’s Environmental Technologies, Life Sciences, and Pharmaceutical Technologies businesses. In addition, he led Corning’s international regions and the Global Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Safety functions.
Musser joined Corning in 1986 and moved through a series of manufacturing and general management roles in Corning’s Optical Communications businesses. In 2005, he was named vice president and general manager of Optical Fiber and helped restore stability and growth following the telecommunications industry downturn.
Musser served as president of Corning International (2012-2014) and general manager, Corning Greater China (2007-2012). In these roles, he helped expand Corning’s business globally and capture strategic growth opportunities in China.
Musser holds a Bachelor of Science from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he graduated as a Distinguished Cadet, and a Master of Science in computer science from George Washington University. Prior to joining Corning, Musser served five years in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
