Asharani, Kalyani and Neeta Associates, Fiber Manufacturing, Pune, India

 

Meet Asharani, Kalyani, and Neeta. They are associates at Corning’s fiber manufacturing plant in Pune, and they are cultivating their careers at Corning.

“My father always wanted me to do well. When I joined Corning in 2016 through a campus placement, he was so proud,” said Kalyani, who earned a bachelor’s degree in computer electronics. “I am proud to work for Corning. I feel supported in everything I do.”

Asharani and Neeta joined Corning in 2015. Asharani has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and Neeta has a bachelor’s degree in physics. They are thriving at Corning and they credit their achievement to a supportive, diverse team that encourages them to take on new challenges to develop their skills as technical associates.

“The best part about Corning is its culture. My ideas and thoughts are valued here,” Neeta said. The Corning Professional Women’s Forum in India recently recognized Neeta for taking initiative to learn advance her skills and work experience.

“I don’t have to prove myself every day on the shop floor because I am a woman. I only have to prove myself for my personal abilities,”, Asharani said. “Our male colleagues are extremely supportive and that support definitely helps me execute my work seamlessly.”

All three associates value the network of women at Corning and the opportunity to learn from colleagues with diverse skills and experience.
