Harrodsburg Plant Manager
Amy Porter is plant manager, Harrodsburg, Corning Glass Technologies and is responsible for directing overall plant manufacturing and staff functions for the facility. Porter made Harrodsburg history when she was named the first female plant manager in the facility’s 65 years of operation.
Porter joined Corning’s Optical Fiber Division in 1997 as a project engineer in Wilmington, North Carolina. During her time in Wilmington, Porter received the “People Development Award” for her outstanding communication and leadership. Porter spent 17 years in Wilmington and held a variety of engineering, operations, and project leadership roles.
In 2015, Porter moved to the Harrodsburg facility as plant operations manager where she was responsible for managing overall plant operations to meet safety, cost, quality, manufacturing, and development objectives.
Porter holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech.

Vaughn M. Hall, Jr. is international vice president of operations, Corning Glass Technologies (CGT). Comprising CGT are Corning’s Display Technologies, Specialty Materials, High Performance Displays and Advanced Glass Innovation businesses, which include Corning’s glass portfolio for handheld, IT, TV and large size panel applications.
Hall began his career with Corning in 1995 as a senior controls engineer and was named plant engineering manager in 2001 of the Harrodsburg, Kentucky facility. After several years as operations manager for the Shizuoka, Japan facility, Hall returned to Harrodsburg and led the facility as plant manager from 2007 to 2009.
Following his time in Harrodsburg, Hall held a variety of leadership roles throughout the manufacturing organization. Hall’s responsibilities expanded to lead the manufacturing, engineering and supply chain organizations worldwide and coordinate these functions with Display’s development organization for maximum effectiveness and greater synergy.
Hall holds a bachelor’s degree in electronic and computer technology from North Carolina A&T State University and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University.

Pat Carrothers is director, manufacturing operations and supply chain, Corning® Gorilla® Glass and is responsible for the planning and delivery of Gorilla Glass from Corning’s manufacturing facilities. Additionally, he is responsible for contract manufacturing operations globally as well as the global supply chain activities for Gorilla Glass products and glass parts.
Carrothers began his career in Corning when he joined Specialty Materials in 1998 as an industrial engineer. Later he was appointed to several leadership roles including project manager and plant operations and engineering manager.
In 2007, Carrothers joined Display Technologies as manufacturing strategy manager and operations chief of staff, and in 2008 he moved to Japan as operations manager for the Gen 10 plant startup in Sakai City. In 2010, Carrothers was appointed program manager for CDT’s cost leadership program.
Carrothers assumed the role of plant manager in Harrodsburg in 2013.
Carrothers holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from the University of Iowa and a Master of Business Administration from Syracuse University.

John Cochran is new glass and technology migration manager, Corning® Gorilla® Glass, and is part of the Corning Specialty Materials division engineering group based at the Harrodsburg, Kentucky facility. Cochran is responsible for implementing, installing, and migrating new capital platforms and managing the process development and migration of new glass compositions.
Cochran joined Corning’s Display Technologies division in 2005 as a melting line engineer at the Harrodsburg facility. During his time in Harrodsburg, Cochran held a variety of progressively responsible roles including capital expansions project manager and operations department head.
In 2015, Cochran joined the Specialty Materials division and assumed his current role of new glass and technology migration manager.
Cochran holds a Bachelor of Science in ceramic engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Joel Vice is melting process supervisor, Corning Display Technologies, and is part of the division engineering new glass melting group based at the Harrodsburg, Kentucky facility. Vice is responsible for leading his team’s new glass developments.
Vice joined Corning in 2011 as a melting process engineer in the division engineering technology group. Later that year, Vice transitioned to the new glass melting group. Vice assumed his current role of melting process supervisor in 2015. In this role Joel has had the opportunity to develop glasses used on millions of handheld devices across the world.
During his time with Corning, Vice has been recognized for his work on several glass developments, including photovoltaic glass and Corning® Gorilla® Glass.
Vice holds a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky.
