November 2018
The YWCA Pink Boutique in Elmira has been awarded $1,000 by the Corning Incorporated Foundation’s Employee Vibrant Community Grant program. The Pink Boutique offers women who have undergone breast surgery or treatment for cancer the chance to buy intimate apparel locally to help them regain a positive body image. The boutique sells bras, prosthetics, wigs, and offers other post-surgery garments.
Staffed with trained and certified fitters that help women choose the product that is right for them, the Pink Boutique has received national accreditation from The American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics. As part of the YWCA, it supports the organization’s mission of supporting women. The grant recognizes the boutique’s support of the community. The Foundation is awarding 65 $1,000 grants in recognition of its 65th anniversary.
