Though she’s a California girl at heart, Jacqueline (Jackie) entered her second year this fall at Harvard Business School in its MBA program. Harvard is where Jackie first heard of opportunities with Corning Incorporated.

“I grew up baking using Pyrex measuring cups and bowls,” she said. “But, professionally, I heard about Corning when they gave a presentation at my school. I was really impressed that they opened by talking about their values and how integral they are to Corning’s success.”

But Jackie’s internship certainly wasn’t about Pyrex. Instead, as a strategy intern this past summer, she learned about a specific part of Corning’s business, conducted research and then quantified her findings. As the summer progressed, she made recommendations based on what she found.

With three time zones separating them, Jackie said she looks forward to reuniting with her husband in San Francisco upon earning her graduate degree. Then the plan is to — hopefully — get a Bernese Mountain Dog.

“We would name him Bernie, so he would be ‘Bernie the Bernese,’” she said.
