Corning Optical Communications GmbH & Co KG, part of Corning Incorporated’s (NYSE: GLW) Telecommunications segment, will supply its passive optical solutions to Astanatelecom for the historic initiative to bring fibre to the home (FTTH) to the residents of Astana, the capital and second largest city of Kazakhstan.
Astanatelecom plans to connect 1,000 single-family units in the growing city of Astana. Corning’s flexible, interchangeable Evolant® Solutions for FTTx Networks help to make SFU deployments easier and faster with preterminated solutions, no-epoxy/no-polish connectors, and Corning’s bend-insensitive ClearCurve® single-mode fibre.
