World Water Day: Corning’s Water Savings Through the Years

Corning’s Water Savings Through the Years

When it comes to conserving water, every drop counts. Corning is saving more than 150 million gallons of water annually, due in part to conservation efforts by the company's Global Energy Management (GEM) and Corporate Environmental Control (CEC) teams around the world.

GEM began to aggressively pursue water-saving projects around 2010, and officially incorporated water as part of its strategy in 2017. GEM and CEC teams at plants often include some of the same employees, and the groups collaborate to come up with the most effective water-saving strategies for Corning.

"Water is such an important part of our manufacturing processes and to Corning's business functions in general. Using water is unavoidable, but we can do our part to use it wisely," said Patrick Jackson, director, GEM. "Our teams around the world are constantly implementing measures to reduce water usage, to creatively clean and purify water, and to recycle it."
