Meet Christina. She’s cultivating her career here at Corning.
After experiencing a power outage as a young girl, Christina began to recognize the importance of electricity, inspiring her to study electrical engineering in college. After spending the first six years of her career helping build power plants across China and Japan, Christina felt she was ready to take on a new challenge.
Christina moved to America to receive her MBA, honing in on her strategy, analytical, and communications skills, which eventually led her to Corning as an intern and then a full-time employee.
“I admired Corning’s strong engineering roots combined with its commitment to innovation,” says Christina.
Christina first joined Corning as a strategy project manager, leading consulting projects for different businesses and product lines across the company. Today, as a pricing manager for Corning Environmental Technologies, Christina works with a global team to develop pricing strategies integrated in product line and commercial plans, helping to achieve business revenue objectives.
If Christina had to give advice to a young woman joining Corning, she says, “Try to step out of your comfort zone, don’t take no for an answer easily, have a can-do attitude, and be a problem solver in your job.”
We’re proud of our female scientists, engineers, and working professionals like Christina and know they are shaping a brighter, clearer future.
