Falcon® 15 mL & 50 mL Tubes | Temporary Shortage of Blue

You may notice that your Falcon tubes look a little different than usual. The caps, which are normally that famous Falcon blue—which has been a symbol of quality and reliability for labs throughout the world for decades—are now a natural plastic color. Was there a mix-up at the factory?

In this case, the truth is actually stranger than fiction. Due to current global supply chain disruptions, the entire world is experiencing a shortage of blue. Everyone from paint manufacturers to life science consumable suppliers, are battling shortages related to the supply chain. You can read more about it here.

Don’t worry. The blue will be back.

Thankfully, the shortage is expected to be temporary, and you should be seeing Falcon blue caps again in the near future. In the meantime, please be assured that Falcon tubes with natural color caps will perform with the same high quality and reliability that you’ve come to expect from Corning.
