Tutorial: A Simplified Approach for Rapid Analysis of Thousands of Intact Spheroids using the Velocyt® LP Large Particle Flow Cytometer 

 

 

3D cell cultures are gaining more prominence in the biomedical community since they more faithfully mimic physiological processes.  However, analysis workflows are tedious and most current methods assess only a small number of these particles or generate limited types of data.  This talk will show how Bennubio used Corning® Elplasia® plate technology combined with the Velocyt® LP large particle flow cytometer to easily measure thousands of intact spheroids in minutes.  By generating flow cytometry, imaging, and morphological data from the same sample, the Velocyt® LP increases your biological insight while decreasing your time to actionable results.

Tutorial: Genes or Environment? Investigating the Relative Contribution of Mutations, Nutrient Availability, and 2D vs. 3D Growth on the Metabolism of Cancer Cells

 

 

Generating precision cancer models by CRISPR editing 3D organoids enables the generation of high-fidelity in vitro models which may be especially important when studying cancers of epithelial origin where traditional 2D cell line models fail to recapitulate the tissue architecture, transcriptional signatures and functional behaviors of epithelial cells. Extensive characterization of colon cancer organoids and their isogenic 2D cell line derivatives reveals a broad array of cellular behaviors that are specific to the 3D organoid models, including large alterations in cancer cell metabolism.
