Corning® DuraTrap® AT Partial Filter recognized for innovative technology

CORNING, N.Y. — Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) announced today it received the 'Environment Technology of the Year' award at the Indian Automotive Technology and Innovation Awards (IATIA) 2017 for its DuraTrap AT partial filter that helps reduce particulate emissions from diesel engines.

The fourth IATIA ceremony was held on Dec. 15, 2017, in Delhi, India. The award ceremony is organized by Auto Tech Review, a leading automotive magazine in India.  Corning was recognized by an external jury panel of industry professionals for the 'Environment Technology of the Year (Supplier).'

“Corning has been associated with the automotive industry for more than 40 years, developing leading emissions- control solutions to help automakers meet emissions legislations,” said Rohit Kataria, commercial director, Corning Environmental Technologies, Corning India. “We are proud to be recognized by Auto Tech Review and the jury for our product innovations and efforts to support cleaner air in India.”

The Environment Technology award recognizes Corning’s expertise in emissions control and ceramic science.  DuraTrap AT diesel particulate partial filters use advanced materials and monolithic design to help meet BSIV emissions regulations while offering fuel efficiency benefits over competitive technologies.  Corning’s portfolio of emissions-control solutions enables automakers to meet tightening regulations around the world.

“This award demonstrates Corning’s successful development of a highly effective ceramic particulate filter product that offers cost savings to OEMs in diesel engine segments,” said Dr. Suhao He, light-duty regional technology manager, Corning Environmental Technologies, China and India.  “We are pleased to support application and system development in India with a growing team of local emissions-control technology experts.”

Corning’s materials and process expertise has contributed to the campaign for clean air for more than 25 years in India. As an inventor of cellular ceramic substrates and filters for emissions-control products, Corning has been a dedicated partner to the Indian automotive industry, providing cutting-edge emissions-control technology. India’s vehicle market growth, coupled with tighter emission regulations such as India’s Clean Air legislation, is driving the increased demand for high-quality emission products. Corning’s commitment to clean air solutions continues through a global network of service, engineering, and manufacturing facilities that provide quality products, market understanding, and reliable product supply to Indian customers.
