Statement on North Carolina LGBT Law

Statement on North Carolina LGBT Law

Corning Incorporated believes in the dignity of the individual and our values celebrate the rich mixture of diversity in our global workforce.  We view the uniqueness of each individual to be a source of our enduring strength.

We must express our profound disappointment by the actions of the North Carolina legislature and the governor with the passage and signing into law of HB2.  It is our belief that this misguided law discriminates against transgender individuals and fails to provide equal opportunity for everyone.

Corning has a long and successful history of providing equal opportunity for all its 3,000 employees in North Carolina regardless of race, color, gender, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability or veteran’s status and we will continue to do so without hesitation.  This commitment is fundamental to our value structure.

We have significant investments in North Carolina in both people and business.  We remain committed to maintaining inclusive work environments.
