Demonstrations, panel discussions focus on deployment in small and medium-sized towns

Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) announces that it will display its extensive portfolio of telecommunications infrastructure solutions and participate in discussions with market experts at Futurecom  2016, Oct. 17-20, in São Paulo, Brazil. Corning Optical Communications’ displays will be located at Stand C9.

Corning, is a global leader in the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) segment and a leading global provider of solutions to fiber optic networks and voice and data communications systems.

Corning will present passive optical network (PON) solutions that offer the most advanced technologies in connectivity for indoor-plant installations (MDU) and outside-plant FTTH, enabling cost-effective optical fiber deployment. In addition, the company will present solutions for data centers and wireless indoor facilities as well as other technological innovations.

Corning experts will take part in two Futurecom discussion sessions in the Mexican Auditorium.

At 10:50 a.m. Oct. 17, Juliano Covas Pereira, sales manager for Corning Optical Communications, will participate in a panel discussion titled: “ISPs contributing to the universalization of broadband and the services in small and medium towns.”  Pereira will discuss the role of internet service providers (ISPs) to bring broadband to locations outside major urban centers, and factors that need to be taken into account to help ensure profitability of smaller-scale deployments. At 4 p.m. Oct. 19, Bob Whitman, global vice president of Market Development for Corning Optical Communications, will present “Fiber-to-the-Home Evolution and Network Convergence.”  Whitman will address the benefits of different network architectures and their evolution that allows the convergence of next-generation residential and business service offerings.
