HICKORY, N.C. | Corning Incorporated | октября 16, 2012
Visitors will be among the first to handle the newly released cable with Fast Access™ Technology

Corning Optical Communications LLC, part of Corning Incorporated’s (NYSE:GLW) Telecommunications segment, will showcase innovation through exhibits and hands-on demonstrations Oct. 17-19  at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo® 2012 in Orlando, Fla.

In its new exhibit (booth #1022), Corning will feature its latest solutions designed for use in all-fiber access networks: switch center, outside plant, fiber-to-the-business (FTTB), and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH). Customers will get first-hand experience with Corning’s flexible wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) solutions for FTTB networks.

Corning’s switch center display will feature both the Enhanced Management Frame (EMF) System, a design optimized for fiber density and scalability, and the Eclipse® Hardware Family with its FTTx-friendly configurations which includes the coarse WDM module.

There will also be demonstrations of the ALTOS® Cable with FastAccess™ Technology, a new product for the outside plant. This innovative design simplifies removing the cable jacket which decreases cable-end access time and reduces risk of fiber damage from sharp cable access tools. Other outside plant products on display will be the SCF Closure and OptiTect® Local Convergence Cabinets and Housings.

Demonstrations of the field-installable OptiSnap® Connector will highlight how its high-precision mechanical splice technology enables FTTx networks to be installed quickly and cost effectively. The FTTB/FTTH portion of Corning’s booth will also include OptiSheath® Sealed Terminals to show how operators can maximize their existing fiber plant through WDM deployment. Additional products shown will be OptiSheath MultiPort Splitter Terminals, OptiWay® Network Interface Devices and the FlexNAP™ System for high-speed deployments.

At noon Thursday, Oct. 18, Darin Howe, product specialist for Corning Optical Communications, will present “Introduction to Corning Outside Plant Cables with FastAccess Technology” at the SCTE Center Stage.
