Corning Incorporated’s commitment to innovation drew Isaiah to the company.

“It is one of the most innovative companies, it always puts its employees first, and Corning naturally has an environment that is conducive to continual learning,” said the chemical engineering major at Carnegie Mellon.

Isaiah spent the summer working under the Process Engineering Team of Manufacturing, Technology, and Engineering (MT&E). His projects focused on developing and executing analytical experiments.

Beyond doing his work, Isaiah enjoyed checking out Corning’s different facilities in the Corning, N.Y., valley.

“My favorite part of my internship was going on the tours of the various facilities,” said the native of Princeton, N.J. “These tours allowed me to see how much work goes into building a company as successful as Corning Incorporated.”

Isaiah returned to school as a junior this fall, but he has the next several years of his life planned out when it comes to academia.

“My plan is to complete my undergraduate studies, go straight into getting my master’s, then find work in the areas of alternative energy and modeling processes, eventually going on toward a Ph.D.,” he said.
