Amit Bansal | Managing Director, Corning India

Amit Bansal was appointed managing director, Corning India, in November 2016. Bansal has management responsibility and oversight for the Corning International and Optical Communication business in India.

Bansal is responsible for driving synergy across the various commercial organizations to grow Corning’s business in India. He is a director on Corning Finolex JV Board and also leads the responsibility for Corning’s Government Affairs efforts in India.
Amit Bansal was appointed president, Corning India Technologies in October 2012. Bansal is responsible for Corning’s success in India with a specific focus on growing Corning’s non-Telecom businesses in India.

Bansal joined Corning in 2009 as a part of the Axygen acquisition. He was appointed business director for Axygen in November 2010. His responsibilities included leading the operations for the Axygen business, product line management, business development, and manufacturing.

Bansal was appointed chief financial officer of Axygen in January 2003, where he was responsible for the worldwide financial and accounting function. He also managed and led multiple acquisitions worldwide along with integrating them into Axygen. Additionally, he played a key role in raising capital for multiple acquisition transactions and debt syndications. Bansal joined Axygen in 1998 as an accountant and was appointed as the controller in 2002. Before joining Axygen, he had a private practice as a chartered accountant in India.

Bansal holds a Chartered Accountant (India) certification and a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting.
