  5. Light-guide Plate Directs light out the front of edge-lit LCD TVs
    1. MATERIAL INFORMATION

      All LCD TVs require light to generate pictures. This light comes from a backlight unit (BLU) that’s located in the back of the TV, behind the backplane substrate. One component of the BLU is a light-guide plate (LGP). LGPs distribute and direct light through the front of the TV, enabling vibrant pictures.
