Long-haul, terrestrial optical fiber networks connect countries and cities throughout the world. Today, these networks typically range from a few dozen to a few thousand km, and have largely migrated to 10 Gb/s-based dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) systems with 32 channels or more. Our innovative line of optical fibers meets all of these requirements for distance, bit rate, and capacity. Corning fibers are capable of managing both the dispersion that accumulates as light signals travel over long distances and the nonlinear penalties that can limit reach and performance.
