Small Cell Radio Nodes

Purpose-Built Small Cell Radio Nodes for Enterprise Deployments

Radio Nodes

Radio Nodes

Radio Nodes (RNs) are high-capacity, power-over-Ethernet (PoE) capable, small cells. In any deployment, multiple RNs are deployed inside an enterprise or venue, and are connected to the Services Node using standard Ethernet LAN infrastructure. SpiderCloud offers a portfolio of Radio Nodes that support UMTS, LTE, and LAA.

SCRN-340 Enterprise Small Cell Node

The SCRN-340 is a dual-carrier enterprise small cell radio node capable of offering two sectors of LTE capacity. SCRN-340 small cells support:

  • Simultaneous LTE operation in two bands, with up to 128 LTE users per band
  • LTE operation in bands 2, 25, or 4, 66 and 12 or 14 with up to 128 active LTE users, with a peak LTE throughput of 150 Mbps.
  • FirstNet support (Band 14) is available on the SCRN-340

The SCRN-340 has advanced “network listen” capabilities to support SpiderCloud’s Self-Organizing Network (SON) capabilities including FirstNet pre-emption required for attached First Responder devices. Radio Nodes are able to listen to other Radio Nodes, as well as to GSM, UMTS and LTE macro-cells. The SCRN-340 is available in multiple band class combinations, covering most major band classes used around the world. The SCRN-340 is software configurable in the field to any of the bands/channel widths it supports.

SpiderCloud radio nodes can be installed on walls or ceilings. Both network connectivity and power are provided over Ethernet. The radio node has no fans and is completely convection cooled.  There is no management or console port on the radio node, and the radio node can be physically locked to prevent theft.

SCRN-520 Small Cell

The SCRN-520 is an integrated 5G mmWave small cell. The Corning scalable small-cell system, called an enterprise radio access network (E-RAN), simplifies the complexity of radio management and mobility and provides operators with a single touchpoint to aggregate and manage a large network of 5G small cells.

Each SCRN-520 supports 2 x 2 MIMO operation on NR band n261, enabling high user capacity and high data rates per radio node coverage footprint. Each radio node carrier supports 64 active NR users. When used with 4 x 100 MHz channel bandwidth on downlink, a radio node supports a peak downlink rate of 1.8 Gbps and a peak uplink rate of 60 Mbps @ 64QAM. The coverage area for each small cell is approximately 3,500 sq. ft.
