Corning ‘Best Places to Work’ For People with Disabilities

Corning ‘Best Places to Work’

Corning Incorporated has been named one of the best places to work by the American Association of People with Disabilities and Disability:IN.

Corning received a top score of 100 on the 2018 Disability Equality Index (DEI), a national, transparent benchmark that provides companies an objective score on disability-inclusion policies and practices, according to DEI's website.

"A commitment to Diversity and Inclusion is core to the priorities driving this company," said Christy Pambianchi, senior vice president, Human Resources. "Receiving a top score on the 2018 Disability Equality Index is recognition of Corning's belief in the fundamental dignity of The Individual, one of Corning's seven core values."

Companies are graded on their performances in five categories — cultural leadership, enterprise-wide access, employment practices, community support and engagement, and supplier diversity. Questions include specifics about resource groups, executive sponsors, accommodations, and internal and external awareness.
