Corning Display Technology in Taiwan operates two successful CSR programs

Two corporate social responsibility programs established by Corning Display Technologies in Taiwan are models for other companies who want to advance their community involvement, according to Taiwan Business Topics.

CDT’s main corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives – sponsoring Taiwan’s National Primary and High School Science Fair and hosting the Corning Future Innovators Competition – are recognized as successful CSR programs by the publication as it illustrates five best practices for companies to consider.

The story “What Makes an Outstanding CSR Program?” explains how CDT directs its resources toward addressing issues closely related to the company’s expertise in material science. The story states the programs “are both geared toward empowering future innovation.”

“Staying focused on your company’s core competencies and the real needs from the communities are they key factors for a CSR program to be successful and sustainable,” Corning Taiwan President Daniel Tseng is quoted in the story.

Approaches taken by other large corporations, such as Citi Taiwan and Microsoft, to build successful CSR programs are also cited in the story.
