CORNING, N.Y. | Corning Incorporated | September 04, 2018

Corning Incorporated (NYSE: GLW) announced today it will showcase an expanded range of precision glass solutions for emerging microelectronics applications Sept. 5–8 at Semicon Taiwan, one of the world’s largest tradeshows for the microelectronics industry.

Corning is exhibiting its extensive portfolio of glass substrates and complementary technologies, including automated laser glass-cutting machines, and industry-leading glass characterization tools optimized for semiconductor-related applications.

Specifically, Corning’s exhibit features:

  • Cutting-edge glass carriers for advanced semiconductor packaging
  • An expanded selection of wafer-level optic solutions for precise 3D sensing such as facial recognition
  • High refractive-index glass, polymers, and coatings for leading augmented reality devices.

“We continue to see increased pull for glass-based solutions across several applications starting to use semiconductor fabs and processes,” said David Velasquez, division vice president and general manager of Corning Precision Glass Solutions. “We’ve designed Precision Glass Solutions as a one-stop shop to support the industry’s use of glass.

“We have already delivered hundreds of thousands of glass wafers to top-tier customers in consumer electronics and have come to the heart of the semicon industry in Taiwan to demonstrate our continued commitment,” Velasquez said.

Precision Glass Solutions leverages Corning’s multiple long-standing capabilities to solve highly complex customer challenges. These capabilities include world-class glass and ceramic manufacturing platforms, finishing processes, bonding technologies, best-in-class metrology capabilities, automated laser glass-cutting, and optical design expertise.

Corning’s exhibit is located in booth #L1016 on the fourth floor of the Taipei Nanang Exhibition Center. Also, Precision Glass Solutions Commercial Director Rustom Desai will lead the Materials Forum presentations on Sept. 6 with a presentation on “Innovative Glass Solutions for Semiconductor & Consumer Electronics Applications.”
