Technology Leadership
It was almost a decade ago when we were best known for our Corning Ware® consumer cookware and our laboratory glass products. We've recognized that our unparalleled understanding of glass and ceramics gives us a competitive advantage in high-growth sectors of the economy. After divesting our consumer products division, we are leaders in the areas of optical communications, liquid crystal displays, as well as advanced materials used for applications such as emissions control and DNA research.
By integrating scientific discovery with market need, we've garnered leadership in the telecommunications, information display, and advanced materials industries. In 1994, Corning received the United States National Medal of Technology. In 1995, Corning's Telecommunications Products Division was awarded the U.S.'s prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for world-class quality.
